new beginnings

I'm going to get some new quilts started and I'm sooooo very excieted!!! I'm trying to figure out which way I want to go with this quilt.

Should I go this way (up top) or this way (down below)?

Here is a pile of pink, mauve and burgandy. I really like this stack. It will be a little more of a color challenge but I like it!

This might be one of my favorite stacks because it's the red and aqua stack that I've been dying to get to. I'm just not quite sure which pattern to use. That red polka dot is the last bit of the american jane polka dot. My very favorite.

This is a stack of blues and greens that will be mixed with white. I think I'm going to go with a bigger pattern one like square dance. I'm not sure though.

This will be a precious baby quilt. I have friends who just had a baby. I love the bunny and duck print. I'm not sure if you can see them that well.

This will be a baby quilt also. I have a pattern in mind for this. I can't wait to get going on this one.

I'm not sure about this stack I just liked the way it looked together.:)

After all that check it out!!!!! I have a FREE drawer!!!! I haven't had a free drawer in months. I'm feeling really good about using what I have. Plus, I'm going to be at the fabric shack in less than a month!!! I will not feel bad one bit about buying some more beautiful fabric.
If you want to give me a suggestion about what to do with one of the stacks I would love your opinion!! I hope you are having a great day!!

  1. I really like the pinwheel look. I didn't realize that's how you make it! I've only done squares. I love the fabrics you put together...especially the red and aqua!

  2. Oh my. What beautiful colors! I love the red and aqua. I made a baby quilt out of that elephant fabric in your first stack. I am quilting it now and will back it with chocolate minky and bind it with a dark chocolate print also. See quilt top laid out here:

  3. Fun quilts on the way for you!! I personally would not call that an empty drawer yet...unless you are not putting any of this fabric back in there while you sew another one. ;) I like the zig zag on the top one...because I want to make one so much.

  4. Wow!!! What a list of things to do.
I'm sure they will all be stunning but how do you ever find the time?
    Andi :-)

  5. I love all of that fabric!!! I think the aqua and red are screaming out to be made into a happy hour quilt! The pinks, maybe a bento box? Very subtle, but I think it would look amazing. No matter what they will all look gorgeous! :)

  6. i love all those stacks!! They all look so fun. i absolutely vote for the first arrangement. i love a zig zag quilt. they are so fun!!! i too have tons of designated quilt piles, all that i have a plan for but not the time

  7. Oh my *feeling faint * fanning self* Such awesome fabric. Soo many choices! I think I would just spend alot of my time fondleing fabric.

  8. holy buckets! You will be BUSY!!! Loving the red and aqua stack SO much!!! I have been wanting to do a quilt in those colors for quite some time, can't wait to see what you come up with...congrats on the free drawer:)

  9. Well, i can't give you any suggestions, because I'm at the beginning of quilting. I really never ever had made some of these, but I can give you my oppinion? (If you like ofcourse)

I think the second picture looks very nice, but I realy lóve the red fabrics. You made me very curious about what you're going to do with it.

    Lovely greetz from Holland!

  10. I just love how you have matched up and stacked your fabrics. I do love the red and aqua combo, but all the others are just wonderful. What about a string quilt or spider web quilt?

  11. Hey, where did you buy the blue elephant fabric in the first photo?

  12. I *adore* *love* *want* that blue/khaki combo with the moons! I love it!

I think it'd make a great chunky block quick baby quilt.

  13. Heather...I love your stacks of fabrics. I am so like that, too! If I think of an idea, I'll e-mail you!

  14. congrats on a clean drawer!!! that's so exciting and i'm PROUD OF YOU! you are doing so well at using your stash. (and i have to say that i'm feeling guilty for asking you if you want to buy fabric all the polka dots, denyse schmidt...i am supposed to be a GOOD influence on you!)
