i now have 51 blocks. i want it 8 rows by 10 rows. we'll see. that would make a VERY LARGE quilt! i love big quilts though so we'll see. it was looking large when i laid it out 7 rows by 7 full rows and two left over. i really LOVE this quilt and the way it's coming together. i can't wait to sew the rows together. but that's for a later date. i'm not going to take the whole vacation off of blogging but i am taking a few days off! have a GREAT couple of days.

What beautiful strings you have! The colors you work with are so 'clear' and fresh. I guess I tend to work with deeper, darker, 'dirtier' colors...my strings never look this fun!
ReplyDeletewow - very pretty. I love the look of those quilts, but I don't love the thought of ripping all that paper! I am too lazy! : )

Amazing, amazing, amazing - I love it!!! The colors are magnificent!
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely. I did a little one and gave it away to a new babe. I'm thinking of doing another now that I've got the knack. I've been sorting my strips to make it easier to piece. Thanks for the inspiration! Have a nice break....you lucky thing, middle of summer. We're middle of winter! Cheers, T.x
ReplyDeleteWow! I must say, before I say your quilt laid out in this post I haven't been the biggest fan of strong quilts. But your work is really making me re-think that! Perhaps I passed judgment a bit too quickly!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see this finished. It's beautiful so far!
ReplyDeleteI love the way this is looking too. Wow 26 at one time, I don't think I have the patience, it does make me want to go work on mine. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm just quilting my Queen sized string quilt. I laid the patches of strings in a basket weave pattern. I estimated (after I started) that there are about 3000 strings in it. Just as well I estimated AFTER I'd started, otherwise I probably wouldn't have begun. It looks fabulous though, can't wait to finish it.
ReplyDelete(I've been working on it since Feb, so it'll get on my bed just as winter ends, probably. Only have a couple of weeks to go till Spring...)
