Square Dance is done!!! Hip Hip Hooray!! All my graduation quilts are done!! I'm going to have to get a giveaway together!!!:)

This is the back of square dance and as you can tell I used what I had. I didn't have to buy any fabric for this quilt!! It feels so good. But why do I still have four drawers of fabric (filled) and stacks of fabric on shelves??? I'm trying to make a dent.:)

I did the kind of binding that amandajean has done. I did color to color. It wasn't as bad as I thought and I got closer to the colors than I thought I would so over all I think I would try this method again.

Here's where you can see the three different colors of binding that I did to match the back. I have to say I'm really learning to love a white solid in a quilt!! I love how it makes the colors PUNCH!!!:) I also want to thank everyone for the encouraging comments about the wee play quilt. With every comment I got that said quilts are to be used and loved and they can be washed I got more and more confident!!! I guess since this is my blog I obviously talk about what I do but I was starting to feel like I am sooooooooo selfish because all I talk about is what I do. I feel a little funny about that at times. This is the me space I guess.:) I think that's why I take some time off at times.:) Hope you have a great day! We'll see you tomorrow!!

another one

This is my wee play quilt. I love it! I am going to make it bigger though. I'm going to make 16 more and make one more long and short row. I LOVE big quilts. Plus, I think this will my picnic quilt. I'm going to put chambray on the back so I feel like if it's on the grass it should be okay. I just figure if I can't enjoy my fabric/quilts then what's the point? I need these quilts to be usable otherwise I just have a bunch of quilts laying around. Am I crazy????

oh cherry oh!!

I thought I would try to post a few of the things I've been working on the last week or so. It's crazy around here. My husband just went on a fun weekend this morning I was subbing and got a call that my son fainted at school. So I'm home now. He said I could post quick and then spend the rest of the time with him.

This is going to be the back of the oh cherry oh quilt. It was a duvet that I got at our second hand store. So I have one more side to use!!! I'm soooo excited!

This is the start of my wee play quiltl. I'm doing it in the candy bar road pattern. I have it all cut out now I just need to be able to sew it together. Maybe tomorrow? Who knows. Hope your day is going well!!

Number 3 is DONE!!! I wish that I was better at taking pictures because even though I don't think that I would ever pick this color scheme for myself I really, really like this quilt. It's way better in person. Just wish you could see that!

The back is Denise Schmitz red with the tiny flower. I wasn't sure if I wanted to use my stash of that but I also didn't want to buy any either so I thought I'm using it and not looking back. It's terrible how big my stash is after THREE and 1/2 graduation quilts!! (the fourth quilt was mostly jerseys that's why I said 3 1/2) ;)

I used grey thread to stipple it and really like how the grey looked on the white. This quilt measures 58x85. I got nervous that it was to small and wouldn't fit a twin but then I tried it on my sons bed and it fit. All I can say is THANK GOODNESS!!! I would have cried!!!

I used a solid grey binding and feel like that was nice instead of a print. I'm very happy with this quilt seeing it is definately out of my comfort color choices!! Hope you have a great weekend. I'm quiltin' like crazy around here. I'm getting things done! (and started too):)

no more spiderweb for me:)

I'm going to scrap the spiderweb quilt that I was working on (if you can say one complete square was working on) and do this new strips quilt. I LOVE IT!!!!! I'm going to finish stippling the third graduation quilt and reward myself with some time to work on this for a day and then start stippling my last graduation quilt.
I have loved making these quilts but I will be happy when I don't HAVE to do something. I can just do it because I want to and for fun!!
This quilt was inspired by this quilt!!! Isn't it GORGEOUS!!!!!!!

trying to get caught up

Here are the 9 patches I worked on yesterday. I got 16 finished and am still way behind. I have a total of 21 or 22. It's better but not caught up yet. I'll get there. I'm stippling the red, black, grey and white quilt too.

I have been having to clean my sewing room because my cat left me some surpises in my scrap bins! This is a wad of scraps that I had to wash and then throw out because they were sooooo tangled that I didn't even feel like bothering. Needless to say it has been a crazy morning in our household with the pets we own. If you don't own any pets I would suggest that you keep it that way!!!:) I do love my animals it's just they are a pain sometimes!!! Have a fantastic day!

a tote....finally

About 8 months ago I made this quilt for one of my sister-in-laws (I have 4). I didn't make her a bag to go with it though. (which was my thing at the time.) A quilt in a bag.:) So she and I had a joke about it and today I made her one.

I used scraps from her fabric so in case she wanted to carry the quilt in it she could. She thinks I'm crazy to think that she would ever put the quilt on the ground. She says it's way to nice. Bless her for saying that. Now I don't have to send it because my mother-in-law will deliver it for me. Tomorrow they leave. I'm very sad to have them go but we will see them in August.:)

I finally have my last quilt laid out!!!!!! I have one pinned and ready to go but that graduation isn't until the end of June so I put it on hold to do the ones that are coming up. I hope to finish this one and the other one by the end of this month. Unless I sub a lot I should be able to do it no problem. I am participating in the spring to finish even though I don't have the little button on my sidebar thing and even though the person doing it doesn't know it. I'm just trying to finish all the projects I have started before starting a new one.

I feel like it's been sooooo long since my last post so I sure did talk(write) a lot. Hope you have a GREAT day. It sure is pretty here. Hope it's nice by you!:)

number two

Here is graduation quilt #2 done. It's definately not my favorite but I think he will love it. It's memories so it's different for everyone. I'm not athletic AT ALL so I won't even own a jersey.:)

I boxed in the squares and then did stippling on the outer edge. This didn't take as long to quilt as I thought it would. His open house is the end of the month so I needed to get it done.

This is my hubby slaving away at mother's day.:) I LOVED the apron look on him! He loved wearing it because he didn't get messy.

I also wanted to thank you guys for ALL your nice comments. They keep me going!! Plus, thank you everyone for your opinions on my weird or good post. The comments HELP. Gives me things to think about and things to try. I just LOVE hearing from you. I'm doing a little sewing here and there with my in-laws in town but not a ton. I'm having a BLAST with my mother-in-law though!! We are shopping our little hearts out.:) Hope you have a great day!

cool breeze and a giveaway

Cool breeze is done!!! Not any to soon either. I have guests coming in town tomorrow for over a week!:) (my in-laws) I LOVE THEM!!!! I forgot to say that this is a queen size. That was asked and I thought I would update my post. I'm so bad about sizes. I think this is 97x97? I think.

weird or good???

This weekend I tried a new block with different colors and I can't tell if I like them or not. Are they good or strange???

I don't really know what made me think to put a little square in the middle of strips.

Do you ever have computer issues???? I did today and so this post is a HUGE victory!!;) My laptop is messed up and having big problems. Maybe I need a mac. I think their commercials are VERY funny so I would be tempted. Someone just told me they bought a mac because of those and they LOVE it!!! My brother-in-law swears by them. Oh well.
So anyway I've joined the band wagon and am doing the 9 patch quilt along with amandajean. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the orange one and am pretty happy with the other ones. Can you tell that I was working on an oh cherrry oh quilt???:)

I was doing a lot of running yesterday and the boys went to a friends house down the street and there was a garage sale. I came home to find this on the table with this note. I just LOVE that kid!!! He spent his 50 cents on me!! And he is always looking for money to spend on a new toy so I felt VERY loved and thought about. We are going to play after school!!:) Good times, good times! I do love games and he knows that! What a sweet heart! Have a fantastic weekend.
