Ta Da!

Here is my spring magic quilt. I think this is my new favorite quilt!! I LOVE the front and the back.
I had everything for this quilt. I didn't have to buy backing or binding. It felt sooooooo good. I've had this backing for over a year. I bought it at mill end and never found a use for it until now. I still have some left for another quilt!! That makes me happy!;)

I'm trying to copy amandajeans photos. (hers are sooo good!!)

This is the cd I've been listening to to do all my stippling. VERY energizing!!!! Makes me want to do jumping jack!:)

Lastly, this is my last graduation quilt. I'm using this kids old hockey jerseys. Only the thicker ones that I can put interfacing on and maybe some muslin if needed. It's a really fun idea!! I'm excited to see how it turns out. Wish me luck!:)

sneak peak

This is the third graduation quilt I'm working on. It is a very fun challange!! I have never worked with black's or grey's before but it's turning out to be fun. When I was at the fabric shack I got a good amount of these fabrics there to really make this quilt better. I have some wild prints but I think will help this quilt. I only have 16 block done so far. I need 70. I have just a few more to do!:) I'm going to need more fabric so hopefully I will have enough in my stash to add more. I should.
This big red polka dot is one of my favorites!!! I should have got two fat quarters at the fabric shack but I only bought one. Oh well.
It's my hubby's day off so the only time I will get downstairs today is if he naps.:) He loves a Monday nap!:) Hope you have a GREAT day!! I also forgot to mention that I saw this pattern on a floor in a rest stop and thought it would be a good quilt. Pretty fun huh?

saturdays

One of the reasons I love Saturdays is I tend to get away from quilting and do a little project that I can finish in a few hours. I got this fabric at the Fabric Shack and it was only about a 1/4 yard but I LOVED it and just had to use it in a purse.
So this is what I came up with. I LOVED the shape of amandajeans salvage purse and tried to copy it as much as I could. She knows I'm a copier. I do it all the time.:)

And here is some of that fabric up close. I love the bingo one on the right side and the coupon upside down one in front. I'm going to make a checkbook cover I think and for sure a zipper pouch!!! Have a great day!

busy, busy, busy:)

I have been subbing and working at the schools so I have been finishing up some things.
I put chambray on the back of this orange quilt. And with the front being so busy I used a solid binding. (thanks to amandajean:))

This is what I'm quilting right now. I LOVE the pink stripe back!!! I'm in the mood to quilt so I really am a little happy that I think it's going to be rainy this weekend. Then I don't have to feel so bad staying outside. Hope you have a FABULOUS weekend. I don't know if any of this makes sense but I wanted to post!;)

polka dot giveaway

Giveaways are so hard for me because I think I should have things match or coordinate but I am just going to go with polka dots and they don't have to match.:) There are 4 fat quarters here. Leave me a comment and let me know what you're working on. It's fun to hear what everyone's doing. For example: I'm Heather and I'm going to pin a quilt today. (hopefully) Then I hope to start quilting one of the three that I have pinned.:) It's crazy.

I hope you guys have a great day!! I will post the winner Thursday. Thanks for stopping!!

Next...

This is the next graduation quilt top that I've finished. I really like this one too!! I never know which picture will be best so I show them all.:)
The girl I'm making this for I painted her room these colors. Pink, orange and green. I even painted her ceiling HOT pink I should add.:) Hot pink on top a lime green stripe in the middle and orange on the bottom. It is a very bright room but she likes it. So I hope she will like this quilt!

Here's a little closer picture. Amy Butler prints are fantastic for a quilt like this!!:) Also, tomorrow will be my 50th post so I will be doing a polka dot giveaway. Stop back and see me tomorrow for a chance to win. I won't have it open but two days. Hope to see you then. Have a great night!!!

1st of 3

This is the first of three graduation quilts that I'm working on. This girl likes....as you can guess orange. I really hope she likes this much orange!:) I did the disapprearing 9 patch.
The more I see it the more I like it!!! Which is good because I like to give quilts that I like. Makes me feel like it's a better gift if I like it. Otherwise I feel like I'm just giving my leftovers and I don't like that feeling.

Marshmallow Peeps is done. Sarah names another one!!! I looked at this quilt and just kept thinking spring and when she said about the peeps it just hit!! This will go to a quilt shop in town for kids that don't have much. It's fun to share!!!

Have a GREAT day!!!

spring magic

I am LOVING this quilt top. This is the moda spring magic that I got from my swell quilt top trade.
I LOVE how busy this quilt is too.

I even have the backing for this quilt. Very exciting for me seeing I'm going to do my best not to buy fabric until August when I go back to the Fabric Shack. I think I'm already shaking but I have so much fabric I've just got to use some of it before I don't like it any more. That would be very sad. It's a sort of fun challenge to me because I've never done it before. I really need to show a little self control!:)

a bag

This is the charm pack I got at Fabric Shack and turned it into a bag. I wanted it to be purse size but I didn't cut down the charms so it was a bit bigger and I came to terms with it.:) It's a good size with kids and with summer coming.
I never know which picture is better so I do both. I'm so excited to hear that someone is doing a finish up your projects month. I've got quilts coming out my ears and so this will motivate me to keep going! This bag was something I wanted to do and I have three more of these that I want to do!! I've got lists that are out of control. I hope you have a GREAT day!!!

problem solved

Remember the rip in my jeans? Now they look like this.:) I can't tell if this is fun or I'm a TOTAL fabric DORK!:) Either way I'm wearing them! And I forgot that when I was away my sister-in-law wanted some curtains for her kitchen. They are two panels that I made from two swanky charm packs. I didn't have my juki so it was hard to get things exactly how I wanted but she liked them and I guess that's all that matters.
We really enjoyed the swanky name!:) It was used a lot the rest of the time there. It really is a great name. We felt swanky for getting it!!:) As always I hope you have a GREAT day, thanks for stopping by.

binding in the car

I finished my bento box!! I really love it. My pictures don't do it justice. It's very crisp! This quilt only measures 56x68. Not as big as I like them but this is going to go at the end of my guest bed.
Here is the back.
And I used orange binding to give it a pop of color!:) This quilt makes me happy!:) Hope you have a great day!

a week away

I want to thank you guys for the kind words about my husbands grandma. Miss (as we called her) was 90 years old. She lived a long life. She lived on her own until she went into the hospital about two week ago. AMAZING!! We had a very nice time with family. Thank again.
My mother-in-law and I get along very well and she treated me to some time at the fabric shack on Wednesday. I had this brilliant idea to have my picture taken with the sign. So since it was on the ground I decided to kneel down. I did and JUMPED up immediately!!! She thought I got stung by a bee. (I wish I had) There was a sharp part on the sign that I didn't even see and it ripped my pants. I didn't have a long enough shirt to cover the rip so I had to end up buying a long sweatshirt. I will show you how I fix these jeans hopefully in a few days. My father-in-law told me I should title my post a Rippin' Good Time. That made me laugh!!:)Here is the results of my fabric shack trip. When you visit there in person they have these carts that are 2.98 a yard and you have to buy the whole peice. (oh darn) I didn't even get anything over a yard. And some weren't even 1/4 yard. So this way I got a little peice of fabric to just play with. I have graduation quilts to make and one of the girls likes red, gray and black. This will be a good challange for me. So you see the red, grays, and blacks. I also got 16 fat quarters. They are only 1.85 in the store!!! I get to go back in late summer and I will be saving my pennies until then!:) As always thanks for stopping by. I will show you some of my car projects tomorrow. Have a great day!

Gone for a week

It seems like it's been awhile but I just wanted to let you know that I'm out of town due to a funeral. My husband's grandma died Tuesday morning so we have been in a whirlwind trying to get our stuff together to get to OH. We are here now and I wanted to post pictures but forgot my cord thingy. So I will take pictures of what I'm working on and show then later. Hope everyone is doing GREAT!!

I did work on the bento box in the car and the binding is almost done!!:)
