a week away

I want to thank you guys for the kind words about my husbands grandma. Miss (as we called her) was 90 years old. She lived a long life. She lived on her own until she went into the hospital about two week ago. AMAZING!! We had a very nice time with family. Thank again.
My mother-in-law and I get along very well and she treated me to some time at the fabric shack on Wednesday. I had this brilliant idea to have my picture taken with the sign. So since it was on the ground I decided to kneel down. I did and JUMPED up immediately!!! She thought I got stung by a bee. (I wish I had) There was a sharp part on the sign that I didn't even see and it ripped my pants. I didn't have a long enough shirt to cover the rip so I had to end up buying a long sweatshirt. I will show you how I fix these jeans hopefully in a few days. My father-in-law told me I should title my post a Rippin' Good Time. That made me laugh!!:)Here is the results of my fabric shack trip. When you visit there in person they have these carts that are 2.98 a yard and you have to buy the whole peice. (oh darn) I didn't even get anything over a yard. And some weren't even 1/4 yard. So this way I got a little peice of fabric to just play with. I have graduation quilts to make and one of the girls likes red, gray and black. This will be a good challange for me. So you see the red, grays, and blacks. I also got 16 fat quarters. They are only 1.85 in the store!!! I get to go back in late summer and I will be saving my pennies until then!:) As always thanks for stopping by. I will show you some of my car projects tomorrow. Have a great day!

  1. Very funny thing - I live in the Chicago area and just went last week to my husband's family home in Ohio for a funeral. Where did we end up - The Fabric Shack! His dad and sisters live about 35mins away, and they visit there often. I already have a list planned for when I go back to visit this summer. Quite a place isn't it! I went a bit nuts. I was exctied to find a bit of Heather's mermaid fabric in that bin. I totally missed the fat quarters. Ahhh...next time.

  6. You know if you go into those fancy boutique type shops, you pay mucho dollars for ripped jeans. If you wear them like that, people will think you paid top dollar. How cool is that to get fabric for those prices? Lots to play with...
