another one

This is my wee play quilt. I love it! I am going to make it bigger though. I'm going to make 16 more and make one more long and short row. I LOVE big quilts. Plus, I think this will my picnic quilt. I'm going to put chambray on the back so I feel like if it's on the grass it should be okay. I just figure if I can't enjoy my fabric/quilts then what's the point? I need these quilts to be usable otherwise I just have a bunch of quilts laying around. Am I crazy????

  3. You don't make these to sit on a shelf in a closet, do you? Heck no! They are meant to be used and loved as often as possible! Fabric can be washed! Picnic away, I say! :)

  7. You are right - quilts are meant to be use. i won't simply start on anything until I'm ascertain that it will be use. Thus, many projects are shelved. I am planning to use flannel for both the batting/backing (just two layers) for the elder nephew/niece lap quilts but plan to make prototype (most likely a tabletop for a friend in Australia.

  13. I'm with you. I feel quilts should be used. I give baby quilts to my friends, and they are afraid to use them. I tell them they had better use them, because that's what they're for! Your wee play quilt looks very fun!

  14. Nothing bothers me more than to make a quilt and give it to someone only to find that they have "put it away" so it won't get worn. I put all that time and love into them I want someone to use them. Even if that means I have to repair them later because someone loved a hole in them. Which has happened with a quilt that I gave my niece when she was born. She loves it and it shows. :) But I'd rather repair them than have them living in a closet somewhere. Can you tell I have strong feelings about this? So use that fabric and enjoy those quilts! By the way, the wee play quilt is looking good.
